Hyderabad is a twin city, pairing the historic old quarter around the Charminar with the fast-growing tech districts of the west, and it draws business travellers, heritage tourists and transit passengers in roughly equal measure. Its blend of Nizami monuments, biryani and modern IT parks gives it an unusually wide appeal.
Where you stay is shaped by purpose and by the airport corridor at Shamshabad, south of the urban core. Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills are established upscale districts; HITEC City, Gachibowli, Madhapur and Kondapur serve the technology corridor; and Abids and the Charminar area suit heritage-led visits.
The city has stock for every budget. Budget hotels concentrate around Abids, Nampally and Secunderabad, mid-range chains fill the western tech corridor, and the luxury hotels cluster in Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and increasingly near the airport.
