Who can book

MoU hotels are open to defence personnel. Eligibility is read from the verified service record on your udChalo account rather than from anything entered at booking time; what differs by rank is the entitlement, not the access.

Entitled room rate

Each pay level carries its own entitled base rate per night, GST exclusive, as promulgated by the Govt of India. Where a stay sits above that rate the difference is shown as a top-up before you pay.

Food charges

A daily food entitlement applies alongside the room rate and is GST inclusive. It covers breakfast and one major meal, and is invoiced as a separate line item so it can be claimed separately.

Occupancy

Pay levels 12 and above are entitled on single occupancy. At pay levels 9 to 11 a 5-star stay is entitled on double occupancy, while 4-star and 3-star stays are single occupancy.

GST and invoicing

The hotel GSTIN appears on the invoice, with room and food as separate line items and the GST rate and amount stated separately, which is what a reimbursement claim needs.

Cancellation

Cancellation terms are set per property and per rate, exactly as on a public booking. The applicable terms are shown against the rate before you pay.

About staying in Delhi

Delhi is India's capital and one of its largest travel gateways, drawing tourists to its Mughal and colonial monuments, business travellers to its offices and government districts, and a constant flow of transit passengers connecting across the country. It is really two cities in one, the crowded historic core of Old Delhi and the wide, planned avenues of New Delhi, and the first decision is which of its very different districts to base yourself in.

Where you stay depends on your reason for the trip. Connaught Place sits at the centre and connects everywhere by Metro. Paharganj and Karol Bagh hold the cheapest and most tourist-friendly rooms, a short hop from New Delhi railway station. Aerocity, Mahipalpur and Dwarka are the practical choices for a flight, minutes from the terminals. South Delhi, around Saket, Nehru Place, Hauz Khas and Greater Kailash, mixes business hotels with the city's best dining, while Chanakyapuri holds the diplomatic enclave and much of the luxury stock.

Delhi covers every budget. Backpacker guesthouses and budget lodges cluster in Paharganj, mid-range business hotels fill Karol Bagh, Dwarka and South Delhi, and the five-star hotels sit mainly in Aerocity, Chanakyapuri and the southern colonies. Rates rise around the wedding season, big exhibitions at Pragati Maidan and the winter tourist peak.

Timing matters. October to March is the pleasant, busy season, though dense fog in December and January regularly disrupts early flights and trains, so leave buffer time. April to June is punishingly hot, and the monsoon from July to September is humid with intermittent heavy rain. Fauji rates are a defence discount applied on top of public inventory and are shown on the regular Delhi hotel pages. An MoU stay is booked against your TD entitlement at a property tied up under the MoU, and carries the tied-up inclusions such as breakfast, a major meal and laundry.

Can I see MoU rates for Delhi before signing in?

No. The negotiated rate is resolved against your verified rank, so it is shown only after sign-in. The prices against the hotels on this page are the public rates, the same ones the regular Delhi hotel pages show.

Do MoU bookings come with a reimbursement claim pack?
