Entitled room rate
Each pay level carries its own entitled base rate per night, GST exclusive, as promulgated by the Govt of India. Where a stay sits above that rate the difference is shown as a top-up before you pay.
Food charges
A daily food entitlement applies alongside the room rate and is GST inclusive. It covers breakfast and one major meal, and is invoiced as a separate line item so it can be claimed separately.
Occupancy
Pay levels 12 and above are entitled on single occupancy. At pay levels 9 to 11 a 5-star stay is entitled on double occupancy, while 4-star and 3-star stays are single occupancy.
GST and invoicing
The hotel GSTIN appears on the invoice, with room and food as separate line items and the GST rate and amount stated separately, which is what a reimbursement claim needs.

About staying in Mysuru
Mysuru, long spelled Mysore, is the cultural capital of Karnataka and its City of Palaces, a graceful heritage town built around the great Mysore Palace and framed by Chamundi Hill. It draws heritage tourists, a large weekend crowd from Bengaluru, and a steady stream of yoga students to its ashtanga schools around Gokulam.
Mysuru offers central lodges, homestays, business hotels and heritage properties around its palace, station and outer neighbourhoods. Many visitors also arrive by road or rail from Bengaluru, so the best locality depends on the onward route as much as sightseeing.
Mysuru covers a wide range. Budget lodges and homestays fill the centre and the station area, mid-range hotels are spread across the city, and heritage and luxury properties, some in former palaces, sit around the Palace and on the outskirts. The city is around 150 km from Bengaluru, and many visitors arrive by road or rail rather than through its small airport.
October to March is the comfortable season. The Dasara festival in September or October is the highlight of the year, when the Palace is illuminated and the city fills, so book far ahead for those dates.
