Entitled room rate
Each pay level carries its own entitled base rate per night, GST exclusive, as promulgated by the Govt of India. Where a stay sits above that rate the difference is shown as a top-up before you pay.
Food charges
A daily food entitlement applies alongside the room rate and is GST inclusive. It covers breakfast and one major meal, and is invoiced as a separate line item so it can be claimed separately.
Occupancy
Pay levels 12 and above are entitled on single occupancy. At pay levels 9 to 11 a 5-star stay is entitled on double occupancy, while 4-star and 3-star stays are single occupancy.
GST and invoicing
The hotel GSTIN appears on the invoice, with room and food as separate line items and the GST rate and amount stated separately, which is what a reimbursement claim needs.

Udaipur, the City of Lakes, is Rajasthan's most romantic destination, built around Lake Pichola and its palaces and famous for a skyline that seems to float on water. It draws heritage tourists, honeymooners and a large wedding trade, and its hotels lean heavily towards character, from lakeside guesthouses to some of India's most celebrated luxury properties.
Udaipur offers budget guesthouses, boutique heritage stays and premium hotels across distinct zones. The Old City and ghats suit walkable heritage visits, while lakefront and outer-hill properties serve travellers prioritising views or resort facilities. The airport is at Dabok, east of the centre.
Udaipur covers a wide range. Budget and mid-range guesthouses cluster in the Old City around the ghats, boutique heritage hotels fill the lanes near the City Palace, and the luxury lake palaces and resorts sit on and around Pichola and on the surrounding hills. The airport at Dabok is around 22 km east of the centre.
September to March is the best time to visit, comfortable and clear, with the monsoon filling the lakes to their most beautiful. April to June is hot.
